House with Heart (HwH) thrives with the help of its volunteers.

There are many ways that you can get involved.

Administrative Help

Are you interested in grantwriting, party planning, product marketing/development, accounting, or computers?

We are always looking for people to help in these administrative areas and MORE.

You can live anywhere in the world and volunteer.

All you need is a computer and an internet connection so that we can communicate with you. If you live in New York City, we can meet face-to-face.

Fundraising Help

Perhaps you’d like to throw a fundraising party for your friends to benefit House with Heart.

We’d love to provide you with materials and a DVD about our work to help you do that.

Volunteers are also needed to help plan and staff our fundraising events, most of which are held in New York City.

You can see our work first hand and volunteer in one of our many programs in Kathmandu.

Volunteers in the past have run a drama program for the students in our Children’s Learning Centre, provided medical exams, performed much needed repairs at our facility, built a puppet theater, taught at a local school – and much more.

We can match your skills with our current needs.

All volunteers are vetted for the protection of the children and women we serve.

Our house is located in the Aarubari section of the Kathmandu Valley about an hour-long bus ride from the city center.

Many carpet factories are located in this neighborhood, which is one of the poorest areas of the city.

Members of Friends with a Heart visit HwH on a yearly basis and run programs for many of the children we serve, including students in the
